I have accessed some drawings from Simon Branards Book "A-Z of Convicts" into my blog. A native of Launceston Barnard has written a number of books that I have found very helpful in unravelling my story.

 Simon Barnard was born and grew up in Launceston. He spent a lot of time in the bush as a boy, which led to an interest in Tasmanian history. He is an illustrator and collector of colonial artifacts. 

I recommend reading his books  Convict Tattoos, and "The 1819 Dictionary of Criminal Slang".
