"If I have seen further, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants" (Issac Newton)
In my journey, looking into the past, I have been greatly inspired by the work of the Liddy family. Maureen and her father, John, had undertaken information before the internet, making my work so much easier. Finally, I had a place to spring from. I never met Maureen. She died in 1994. However, though a cousin, Raymond Morris, I could converse with John over the phone. Tragedy struck when a sprightly 93-year-old was killed in an accident. His son, Terry, contacted me and said he was intent on completing his family's work.
Terry posted his final opus out for all to enjoy. It is a great genealogical resource for anyone researching the Hatfield/Davis family.
Through John and Terry's efforts and genetic data, the identification of Mary Davis is established without a doubt.
My story of Mary relied on the high standards they placed on evidence over conjecture, their diligence and generosity. I am attaching this for your enjoyment.
